Depart from Dar es Salaam early in the morning (6:00 AM) and drive west through the stunning Uluguru Mountains. The scenic drive takes approximately 5-6 hours with a stop at Morogoro town for breakfast. Arrive at Mikumi National Park around noon and check into your lodge or camp. After lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive through the park's main circuit. Explore the Mkata Floodplain, the park's most productive wildlife viewing area, where you'll likely see herds of elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, and if lucky, lions resting after a hunt. Return to your accommodation as the sun sets over the African savannah. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge/camp.

Wake up early for sunrise game drive (6:30 AM) when animals are most active. Explore different sections of the park including the hippo pools where you can observe these massive creatures wallowing in the water. Your guide will share insights about animal behaviors and park ecology. Return to the lodge for breakfast around 10:00 AM, then check out and begin your journey back to Dar es Salaam. Enjoy lunch en route and arrive in Dar es Salaam in the late afternoon, marking the end of your Mikumi safari adventure.
